Paul Melton is a passionate DJ specializing in Deep House, Progressive House, Melodic House, Techno, and Breaks. His journey into club culture and underground music began in 1991, coinciding with the emergence of the UK rave scene. Initially captivated by Hardcore and Jungle, he DJed these styles mainly as a hobby from 1994 to 1996. As the mid to late 90s rolled around, Paul’s musical tastes broadened to include drum & bass, influenced by artists such as Doc Scott, Fabio, Grooverider, and LTJ Bukem, as well as progressive house championed by DJs like Sasha and John Digweed.
While Paul still enjoys a wide array of music, he has recently returned to his roots, focusing on house music that features deep, melodic, and progressive elements. He has a particular affinity for tunes that combine melody and soul, all the while energizing the dance floor. For a span of six months, he was a Tuesday regular on Urban Essex Radio. Following that stint, he delved into solo live streaming with a series known as Sonic Pleasures.
Paul has been a frequent guest on Atlantic Progression and has recently secured a position as a resident DJ with the platform. He’s also made appearances on Mixpub Radio, Ibiza Stardust Radio, and Cutter’s Choice Radio. In his hometown of Colchester, England, Paul has performed multiple times during 2022 and 2023 at local venues including The Hole In The Wall, Vacay At The Courtyard, and Robert’s Bar.
