The first Open Deck Night hosted by Atlantic Progression and The Idahoan took place on March 5, 2026 at The Heart Events Center in Idaho Falls.
The event marked the beginning of a monthly Open Deck Night series, scheduled for the first Thursday of every month, designed to give local DJs in the East Idaho EDM scene a place to perform and connect with the community.
The first event provided an opportunity to test the format and reintroduce the concept to the Idaho Falls underground music community.
A Solid Turnout for the First Event
The first Open Deck Night drew approximately 20–30 attendees, creating a strong turnout for the launch of a new monthly event.
The night focused on creating a relaxed environment where DJs and fans could gather, listen to music, and support the local underground EDM scene.
Entry for the event was $5, with groups of five able to enter for $20. Every attendee received a raffle ticket, with prizes given away throughout the night.
Funds collected through entry help support the DJs performing and provide raffle prizes for attendees.

Each DJ had the opportunity to perform on stage using professional equipment, giving both experienced and newer DJs the chance to play live sets in front of an audience.
A Platform for Local DJs
One of the goals of Open Deck Night is to provide local DJs a stage to test their music in a live environment.
Many DJs in the region primarily practice at home. The event allows them to perform on a professional sound system and develop experience performing for a crowd.
For the first event, several DJs used the opportunity to showcase their styles while helping establish the event as a new part of the Idaho Falls EDM community.
Community Participation and Event Support
The event was supported by staff and volunteers who helped run the door, manage the raffle, and keep the event organized throughout the night.
The Heart Events Center provided the venue space, helping make Open Deck Night possible as a recurring monthly event.
The combination of performers, attendees, and volunteers created the foundation for future Open Deck Nights.
Looking Ahead to Future Open Deck Nights
With the first Open Deck Night completed, the focus now shifts to growing the event over time.
Open Deck Night will continue every first Thursday of the month at The Heart in Idaho Falls, providing a consistent opportunity for DJs to perform and for the community to gather around underground electronic music.
